3.5mm Male TRS to Female TRRS Adapter, CTIA/OMTP

This adapter connects a 4-conductor TRRS device, such as a headset with a microphone, to a standard 3-conductor TRS stereo jack. It passes left and right audio through normally, but because the destination port only supports stereo audio, the microphone connection is grounded out and will not function.

It is built to work with both the CTIA/AHJ and OMTP wiring standards. The two rings on the 4-conductor female connector are both wired to the single ring on the male TRS connector, so it works consistently whether your source device uses the CTIA or OMTP pinout common to computers, headsets, and many mobile devices.
