This shielded adapter extends a 3.5mm TRRS (4-conductor) connection between a male and female port, adding extra length and clearance for devices with thick cases or card reader attachments. It is commonly used to keep card swipers and similar accessories connected to phones and tablets that have plastic or rubber protective housings.
The slim metal housing keeps the outer diameter low while maintaining a solid, durable build. Gold-plated contacts and straight-through 4-conductor wiring help maintain a clean audio and data signal through the connection.
