These modular plugs are designed for terminating twisted pair cabling in Cat 6 compliant data networks. The pass-through design lets wires be inserted through the connector and out the front, so the wiring order can be checked and corrected before crimping. Pressing the connector down over the cable jacket and seating it tightly at the rear shortens the distance between the wire twists and the contacts, which helps maintain signal performance at the termination point.
