This DB9 port saver adapter lets you extend or protect a serial port connection without altering the signal path. It has a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other, wired straight-through so all 9 pins match up pin-for-pin with no crossover.

The connector shells use gold-plated contacts over nickel for reliable, low-resistance connections, and the compact design makes it easy to use as a gender changer or to save wear on a device’s built-in serial port.
