This adapter connects a DVI-D female cable end to an HDMI male port, letting you link DVI video sources or displays to HDMI equipment. The connector pins are gold plated for a reliable connection and resistance to corrosion.
The DVI-I female side is fully pinned (24-pin plus blade connector) with receiving nut holes to secure the connection, while the standard HDMI Type A male connector plugs directly into an HDMI port. Since DVI does not carry a digital audio signal, the audio pins on the HDMI side of this adapter are terminated and no audio is passed through – this adapter is for video conversion only.
